San Cristobal Estuary:
"Paradise of Birds" (Paraiso de Aves)
This is a 24-mile round-trip boat ride deep into the mangrove habitat. This estuary system has been recently protected, though it is less traveled than the national park. For this reason you will see numerous large crocodiles on the banks of the estuary. The Roseate Spoonbills are numerous. Your destination is Zoquipan, a lagoon where you can listen to an orchestra of wading birds.

Take you on a 10-mile round-trip on the El Pozo estuary, to see the birds living in the mangrove habitat.

El Pozo Estuary, Kayak & Lunch at Paraje Del Rey
You are transported 5 miles up the El Pozo estuary. Here you will enjoy a leisurely kayak trip into the mangroves where you will feel a million miles away. Come back for a bountiful lunch at Paraje Del Rey, a remote open-air restaurants nestled in mangroves. Rest under the shade in a hammock then return to San Blas by boat.

La Tovara Jungle Boat Tour
An 8-mile round-trip boat tour in a national park where you will see birds, turtles, iguanas and crocodiles. Visit a wildlife refuge and crocodile breeding facility. Your boat guide is very knowledgeable about the numerous bird species in this habitat. The trip can also be taken with a master bird guide/naturalist.
